Meeting at the assembly point in front IVAM museum in the center of Valencia. Be punctual - this is where the day you will remember for the rest of your life begins. You meet your first Tomatina allies.

07:30 a.m.
Departure to Buñol. The journey takes about 50 minutes. The tension is growing.

08:30 a.m.
Arrival in Buñol. Follow the guide - the adventure is already underway.

Arrival at Tomatobase„

It is absolutely forbidden to enter La Tomatina with any type of bags or backpacks – No exceptions. No backpacks. No hard objects.

Be at the meeting point at 06:30 – Once all the buses are full, we leave. No one is waiting.

Departure time: 07:30 AM Meeting point for the day of Tomatina: IVAM Museum, center of Valencia.

Return from Buñol: Departure at 5:00 PM → arrival in Valencia around 6:00 PM.

If you miss the bus, you can find your way back yourself. In this case: come directly to Tomatobase in Buñol (Vía de servicio, opposite the municipal swimming pool).

✓ Buñol is ~43 km from Valencia
✓ Around 1 hour by bus
✓ After the parking lot there is 1.5 km downhill on foot

✓  When and where is La Tomatina held? – In the town of Buñol, every last Wednesday of August.
✓  What time does the tomato fight start? – 12:00 noon

✓  When does it end? 1:00 p.m. – with a signal (fireworks). After that, you STOP throwing tomatoes.

✓  Is there a wardrobe/lockers? Yes. – Limit: up to 20×20 cm – Suitable for a phone, wallet, spare t-shirt

✓  Are bottles and backpacks allowed? NO. No backpacks. No bottles or hard objects.

✓  Where do I shower after the fight? Public hoses right outside Tomatobase. Then — food, drinks, and a party.

✓  What time do we get back to Valencia? – Around 6:00 PM (depending on traffic). Perfect for a shower + siesta before the evening party.

✓  Who is this for? For EVERYONE. Alone, couple, friends, families, company groups. You will feel like part of one big family.

✓  Is it safe? Yes, but remember: Over 20,000 people, crowds, euphoria. Medical teams are everywhere. Be sensible and follow instructions.

RULES OF "LA TOMATINA"„

Mandatory for every participant

Immerse yourself in the heart of the most colorful and adrenaline-filled event in Spain by learning the basic rules of La Tomatina. Following them will ensure not only your safety, but also an unforgettable experience at the world's largest tomato fight. From the right attire to how (and when) to throw tomatoes — everything is important. Enter the sea of red with confidence, respect, and good cheer. Respect the tradition, feel the spirit, and prepare for an adventure like no other.

 

1. Rules before and after the tomato fight

It is FORBIDDEN to throw tomatoes before the first signal at 12:00 p.m. It is FORBIDDEN to throw tomatoes after the second signal at 1:00 p.m. After the end — YOU STOP. No exceptions.

2. Clothing and behavior

It is PROHIBITED to tear or remove other people's clothing. This behavior is not tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the festival.

3. How to throw tomatoes (very important)

Crush the tomato before throwing. This prevents injuries, as some tomatoes may be harder or green.

4. Equipment and cameras

Selfie sticks – STRICTLY PROHIBITED – Will be confiscated on site. GoPro – allowed, but WITHOUT a stick. Small, compact cameras are acceptable

5. Bag Policy – STRICT

No bags or backpacks are allowed on the streets of La Tomatina. Bring only the bare essentials (e.g. a little cash). Cloakroom/storage is available at certain locations.

6. Bracelets – your entrance depends on them

The La Tomatina bracelet is MANDATORY for access. It must be in perfect condition. ⚠️  Put it on as soon as you receive it — lost or broken bracelet = no entry. 

7.  Two bracelets = full access

One bracelet gives you access to all organized activities. The second bracelet is mandatory for the tomato fight itself. Wearing the right bracelet also provides you with entrance to the official After Party.
