Day 1 | Welcome to Turin

Departure from Sofia airport with a direct flight to Turin. Arrival at Turin airport. Transfer to the hotel.

Next, a walking tour through the historic heart of Turin – the first capital of a united Italy and one of the most elegant cities in the country. Our journey begins at the impressive Vittorio Veneto Square„, one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Europe, offering a magnificent view of the Po River and the hills of Piedmont.

We continue along the iconic Via Po street„, known for its historic porticoes, elegant cafes, bookstores and boutiques that create the unique atmosphere of Turin. On the way we will reach Mole Antonelliana – the architectural symbol of the city, within whose walls today is housed one of the most interesting cinema museums in the world.

Our walk continues towards the majestic Madama Palace„, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The building impresses with its combination of a medieval fortress and a Baroque facade, and today houses valuable art collections tracing the history of the region.

We will head to The Royal Palace – the former residence of the Savoy dynasty, where we will touch upon the rich heritage of the Italian kings and learn more about the history of one of the most influential European ruling families.

Next is a visit to Cathedral of St. John the Baptist„ – the most important religious temple in Turin, known for housing the famous Shroud of Turin, one of the most revered Christian relics in the world.

We continue to the exquisite Subalpina Gallery„, inspired by the Parisian arcades, where elegant architecture, cozy cafes and boutiques create the atmosphere of Turin from the late 19th century.

We will also consider Carignano Palace„ – the birthplace of the first king of a united Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, and the seat of the first Italian parliament. Today, the palace houses the National Museum of the Italian Renaissance and tells the story of the creation of modern Italy.

If you wish, you can visit the famous Egyptian Museum – the second most important museum of Egyptian civilization in the world after the one in Cairo. Its rich collection of mummies, sarcophagi, statues and ancient artifacts makes it one of the greatest cultural landmarks in Europe. The visit is with a guide in Bulgarian.

The walk ends at the elegant San Carlo Square„, often called the „official salon of Turin.“ Surrounded by historic cafes and magnificent Baroque buildings, the square is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors to the city.

Optional: funicular ride to Basilica of Superga„, located on the hill of the same name above Turin. Built by order of King Vittorio Amedeo II after the victory over the French, it is one of the symbols of Piedmont. In addition to the impressive Baroque architecture, it is also home to the Royal Crypt of the Savoy Dynasty, and the panoramic terrace and dome offer incredible views of Turin and the snow-capped peaks of the Alps.

Optional: visit to The Queen's Villa (Villa della Regina) – a magnificent 17th-century royal residence, located among the vineyards and green hills above the Po River. Part of the residences of the Savoy Dynasty, included in the UNESCO list, the villa impresses with its beautiful gardens, elegant interiors and panoramic views of the city.

Day 2 | The Savoy Dominions

Breakfast. Free time in Turin or optional full-day excursion „"The Royal Residences and Parks of the Savoys"“ (for an additional fee).

After breakfast we will travel to one of the most impressive royal residences in Italy – Venaria Reale Palace (Reggia di Venaria), located just a few kilometers from Turin. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this magnificent palace complex is among the most remarkable examples of European Baroque architecture and is often referred to as the "Italian Versailles.".

During the organized visit, we will explore the sumptuous royal halls, the richly decorated galleries and the impressive interiors that tell the story of the Savoy dynasty. We will also enjoy a walk through the spacious palace gardens - exquisitely shaped alleys, fountains, flowerbeds and panoramic views that make Venaria Reale one of the most beautiful places in the Piedmont region.

Then we will continue to La Mandria Regional Park„ – the second largest enclosed natural park in Europe. Spreading over nearly 3,000 hectares, the park is surrounded by an impressive 30-kilometer stone wall, built on the orders of King Victor Emmanuel II. Among ancient forests, green meadows and picturesque alleys, we will discover one of the last remaining parts of the ancient forest that once covered the Po River valley.

During the visit we will look at Borgo Castello – the romantic royal residence where Victor Emmanuel II spent part of his life with his wife Rosa Vercellana. The royal apartments have been preserved in their almost authentic form and impress with their elegant furnishings, valuable works of art, exquisite furniture, textiles and decorative elements that recreate the atmosphere of the Italian royal court in the 19th century.

During the walk through the park we will have the opportunity to enjoy the rich local nature, where deer, wild boars and many protected animal species live freely. La Mandria is also known for its traditions in horse breeding, and to this day rare breeds of horses are bred here and prestigious equestrian events are organized.

After a day full of impressions, we will return to Turin.

Day 3 | On the Path of the Princes

Breakfast. Free time in Turin or optional full-day excursion „"On the Path of Princes"“ with a visit to the sanctuary „"San Michele"“, the picturesque village Yuso and the medieval city Avigliana (for an additional fee).

After breakfast we will travel to one of the most beautiful mountain corners of Piedmont. Our first stop is Usseaux – a charming Alpine village located at 1414 meters above sea level and included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Known as „"the village of bread and murals"“, Yusso impresses with its authentic atmosphere, cobblestone streets, stone houses and magnificent panoramic views of the Alps.

During the walk we will discover the beautiful facades decorated with colorful murals that recreate scenes from rural life, mountain nature and local traditions. We will see the ancient public laundries, stone fountains, the traditional bread oven and the characteristic Alpine buildings that turn the village into a kind of open-air museum. Free time will allow us to calmly enjoy the atmosphere of this magical place and take unforgettable photos.

We continue to one of the most iconic landmarks of Piedmont – the majestic Sanctuary of San Michele (Sacra di San Michele). Perched on Mount Pirkiriano at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, the abbey impresses with its monumental architecture and dramatic setting among the Alpine peaks. For centuries it was an important place on the pilgrimage route connecting Mont Saint Michel in France with Monte Sant'Angelo in Southern Italy.

We will explore the impressive monastery complex, learn more about its almost thousand-year-old history and its role as a spiritual center of the region. It was this mystical place that inspired Umberto Eco to create the world-famous novel „"The Name of the Rose"“. The panoramic platforms in front of the abbey offer impressive views of the Val di Susa valley, the Alps and the surroundings of Turin, and the main church houses the tombs of representatives of the Savoy dynasty.

Then we will head to Avigliana – a romantic medieval town, located among the green hills and two picturesque lakes, which are part of the protected natural park of the Cotian Alps. The historic center has preserved its authentic appearance with narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses and cozy squares.

During the walking tour we will reach Conte Rosso Square„, above which rise the ruins of the majestic Arduiniko Castle – a medieval fortress from the 11th century, used as one of the residences of the Savoy dynasty. After that, we will have free time to walk along the lakes, have a cup of Italian coffee or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this picturesque town.

After a day full of impressions, we will return to Turin.

Day 4 | For food lovers

Breakfast. Free time in Turin or optional full-day excursion „"Piedmont Wine Tour"“ along the route Barolo – Grinzane Cavour Castle – Castagnole delle Lance (for an additional fee).

After breakfast we will travel to the picturesque hills of the region Lange – one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among endless vineyards, medieval castles and small villages, we will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Piedmont – the land where some of the most valued Italian wines are born.

Our first stop is Barolo – a small but world-famous town called „"the capital of royal wine"“. Situated among picturesque vineyard hills, it is a symbol of Piedmont's wine traditions and attracts connoisseurs from all over the world.

During the walking tour we will reach the magnificent Castle of the Marquises of Falletti, which today houses The Wine Museum (WiMu) – one of the most modern and interactive museums dedicated to wine culture. Our visit will become a fascinating journey through the history, traditions and secrets of winemaking. Through impressive multimedia installations, light effects and interactive exhibitions we will follow the path of wine – from the vineyard to the glass.

After the tour we will have the opportunity to enjoy tasting of the famous Barolo wine, defined as the "king of wines and the wine of kings", known for its rich aroma, elegance and ability to age for decades.

We continue to Castello di Grinzane Cavour – another UNESCO heritage site. The majestic fortress was the home of Count Camillo Benso di Cavour – one of the architects of the unification of Italy. Today, the castle combines a museum, a wine shop and a modern center dedicated to the history and traditions of the Langhe wine region.

During the visit, we will explore the historic halls, learn more about the development of winemaking in Piedmont, and walk among the vineyards, from where impressive panoramic views of the surrounding hills open up. Here we will also have the opportunity to taste selected local wines, produced according to centuries-old traditions.

In the afternoon we will head to the charming Castagnole delle Lanze – one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, known for its high-quality wines Barbera, Lange и Dolcetto d'Alba. The historic center impresses with its medieval streets, elegant palaces, beautiful churches and a peaceful atmosphere typical of the small towns of Piedmont.

We will visit the panoramic park with Count Ballada's Tower, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the endless vineyards of Langhe – one of the most photogenic landscapes in Northern Italy.

The finale of the day will be a visit to an established family winery, where we will enjoy tasting of selected wines, combined with the traditional hospitality of Piedmont. Among the aromas of aged wine and beautiful views of the vineyards, we will feel the true spirit of the region and its centuries-old wine culture.

After a day full of impressions, we will return to Turin.

Day 5| The Royal Residence in Turin

Breakfast. Free time in Turin or optional excursion to The Royal Residence "Stupinij"„ with an organized visit and a guide in Bulgarian.

After breakfast we will depart for Palacina di Cacha di Stupinigi – one of the most impressive royal residences in Europe and a true masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Set in a spacious park on the outskirts of Turin, this magnificent residence is part of the complex The royal residences of the Savoy dynasty, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Built in the 18th century as an exquisite hunting lodge for the House of Savoy, Stupinigi quickly became the scene of lavish balls, royal receptions, ceremonial ceremonies and aristocratic weddings. Its majestic halls and elegant salons preserve the memory of some of the most significant events in European history and have witnessed the meetings of kings, emperors and representatives of the most influential noble families.

During the organized visit, we will explore the impressive royal apartments, the richly decorated salons, the exquisite furniture, the crystal chandeliers and the magnificent frescoes that reveal the opulence and refined taste of the Savoy court. We will learn more about the history of the residence and its famous guests, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Pauline Bonaparte, the Russian Emperor Paul I, King Ferdinand I of Bourbon, as well as representatives of the French and Italian aristocracy.

It was here that some of the most glamorous royal weddings of the 19th century took place, including that of the future first king of a united Italy. Victor Emmanuel II и Maria Adelaide of Austria, who turned Stupinidzhi into a symbol of the greatness and traditions of the Savoy dynasty.

After the visit, we will return to Turin, from where we will head to the airport for a direct flight to Sofia.
