Day 2 | Naples – Pompeii - Vesuvius

Breakfast. Free time in Naples or the opportunity to choose one of two unforgettable adventures that will reveal to you the most impressive faces of Southern Italy – the ancient history of Pompeii and Vesuvius or the magnetic beauty of the island of Capri.

1. Optional: One-day excursion to Pompeii, Vesuvius and Naples with a Bulgarian-speaking guide

Immerse yourself in a day filled with history, volcanic landscapes, Italian culture and unforgettable views!

Our adventure begins with a visit to Pompeii – one of the most impressive and best preserved ancient cities in the world. In 79 AD, the powerful eruption of Vesuvius forever changing the fate of the city, covering it with layers of volcanic ash and preserving in an extraordinary way the streets, homes and daily lives of its inhabitants.

During the walk through the archaeological park we will go back almost 2000 years. With the help of a licensed guide we will discover how the ancient Romans lived, we will walk along the old stone streets and see the remains of homes, public buildings, temples and squares. Pompeii is not just an archaeological site – it is a real journey through time.

Then we will continue to the magnificent Vesuvius – one of the most famous active volcanoes in Europe and a symbol of the Campania region. Under suitable conditions, we will have the opportunity to climb to the crater area and enjoy an impressive panoramic view of Gulf of Naples, the city of Naples and the beautiful coasts of southern Italy.

In the afternoon we will return to Naples – one of the most colorful and authentic cities in Italy.

The walking tour will take us through the heart of the historic center. We will pass along the legendary Spaccanapoli, the street that reveals the true soul of the city, we will visit Naples Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Januarius, and we will walk along the famous street San Gregorio Armeno, famous for its small workshops and traditional handmade figurines.

We will reach the impressive Plebiscite Square, one of the symbols of Naples, where we will see the Royal Palace and the monumental architecture of the historic center. We will also enjoy the elegant Gallery Umberto I, impressive with its glass dome and beautiful interior.

Our walk will continue to Castel del Ovo, the oldest castle in Naples, picturesquely located by the sea and offering beautiful views of the bay.

And of course – a visit to Naples would not be complete without a taste of the local cuisine. We will have the opportunity to try authentic Neapolitan pizza and the traditional pastry sfoliatela, which are part of the city's culinary identity.

Free time for walking, taking photos and shopping in the historic center.

2. Optional: One-day excursion to the island of Capri and a walking tour of Naples with a Bulgarian-speaking guide

Discover the magic of Capri – one of the most beautiful and famous islands in Italy, a symbol of the Mediterranean lifestyle, impressive rocky shores and turquoise waters.

We will depart from the port early in the morning. Beverello Pier in Naples. Traveling by ferry or hydrofoil through the beautiful Gulf of Naples will offer us the first impressive views of the sea, the coast and the silhouette of the island of Capri.

After arrival we will head to Anacapri – the quieter and more picturesque part of the island, where narrow streets, white houses and incredible views reveal a different face of the Mediterranean.

If you wish, you will have the opportunity to take a lift to Monte Solaro, the highest point of Capri. From the top, an impressive panorama opens up of the sea, the rocky coast and the surrounding islands.

Under suitable sea conditions, there will be an opportunity to visit the famous Blue Cave - Grotta Azzurra, one of the most famous natural wonders of Italy. The sunlight that penetrates the water creates a unique blue-green glow and turns the cave into one of the most magical places on the island.

If you wish, you can also join a boat trip around the iconic rocks. Faraglioni – one of the most recognizable symbols of Capri and a favorite place for impressive photos.

Then we will walk in the center of the island around Piazza Umberto I, also known as the heart of Capri. We will have free time for lunch, coffee, sweet treats, photos and a walk among the elegant boutiques and the typical Italian atmosphere.

After a day filled with sea views, beautiful landscapes and unforgettable Mediterranean experiences, we will travel back to Naples.

Upon our return, we will take a walking tour of Naples and have the opportunity to feel the energy of this unique city.

We can assist with pre-purchase of entrance tickets for selected attractions, as well as ferry or hydrofoil tickets to Capri. This way you can organize your day according to your own interests, while benefiting from more convenience and peace of mind during your trip.
