The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Bulgarian citizens can enter the country both with valid passport and valid ID card. The document must be valid for at least 180 days from the date of entry.
For stays for the purpose of work, study, entrepreneurial activity or other reasons for a longer stay, a type D visa and subsequent residence permit may be required.
MFA – Georgia, visa regime and travel conditions
From January 1, 2026. all tourists entering Georgia must have a valid health insurance and accident insurance.
The policy must cover the entire period of stay and have a minimum insurance amount. 30,000 Georgian lari. It can be presented in paper or electronic format and must be in Georgian or English. Border authorities may ask to see it upon entry.
