Day 1 | Welcome to Catania

Departure from Sofia Airport with a direct flight of the airline "Wizz Air" or "Ryanair". Landing at the airport in Catania. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. 

Walking tour of the city center (included in the price). Overnight stay.

Day 2 | Etna – Taormina

Breakfast. Free time. Overnight.

Upon request and prior request: full-day excursion to Etna and Taormina.

Around 08:00 departure to Etna – the highest active volcano in Europe and one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The ancient Greeks associated the majestic mountain with the gods, and today Etna is one of the most impressive natural landmarks in Sicily.

Ascend by bus along the slopes of the volcano to about 1900 m above sea level, from where impressive views of the lava fields and the Sicilian landscape open up. In the area of the Sapienza station we will have the opportunity to explore the Silvestri side craters, visit local shops and taste traditional Sicilian products, including Zafferana honey and the Etna Fire liqueur.

Upon request and for an additional fee on site: Possibility of climbing by cable car and specialized all-terrain vehicles to about 2900–3000 m above sea level. In the area of the high craters, a walk with a volcanologist guide is held, under suitable weather conditions and according to the activity of the volcano.

Afternoon departure for Taormina – one of the most famous tourist destinations in Sicily, picturesquely situated on a hill above the Ionian Sea. Thanks to its exceptional location, the city offers impressive panoramic views of the sea and the slopes of Etna.

Free time for independent exploration Taormina. Opportunity to visit the famous Greek theater, which offers a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and Etna, as well as the Roman Odeon, Piazza 9 Aprile, Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral and the Fountain with the Centaur. A walk through the picturesque streets of the historic center with numerous boutiques, cafes, pastry shops and shops selling traditional Sicilian ceramics, lace and coral products.

Return to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 3 | Syracuse – Noto

Breakfast. Free time. Overnight.

Upon request and prior request: full-day excursion to Syracuse and Noto.

Departure for Syracuse – one of the most significant ancient cities of Sicily and a former powerful Greek colony in the Mediterranean. It is also the hometown of the great mathematician and scientist Archimedes. Even in ancient times, Cicero defined Syracuse as one of the greatest and most beautiful Greek cities.

Walking tour of the historic center located on the picturesque island Ortigia, included in the UNESCO list. During the walk we will see Temple of Apollo – one of the oldest Doric temples in Sicily, Archimedes Square, Duomo Square with the impressive cathedral and the church of Saint Lucia, as well as the famous spring of Arethusa, associated with one of the most beautiful legends from ancient Greek mythology.

Free time to explore Syracuse on your own. Possibility to visit the Bellomo Museum or walk to Castello Maniace – the medieval fortress, located at the very end of Ortigia Island, from where beautiful views of the sea open.

Afternoon departure for Noto – one of the greatest architectural treasures of Sicily and a true capital of Sicilian Baroque. The historic center of the city is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and impresses with its harmonious streets, monumental churches and richly decorated palaces.

Walking tour in Noto with a visit to the cathedral, the Piazza Municipio and the magnificent Palazzo Nicolaci – an aristocratic mansion, famous for its richly decorated Baroque balconies. During the walk we will also see the city's characteristic churches and historic buildings, which have turned Noto into one of the most visited Baroque destinations in Sicily.

Free time with the possibility of independent visit to Palazzo Nicolaci and a walk along the main street "Corso Vittorio Emanuele".

Return to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 4 | Departure to Sofia

Breakfast. Check out of the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
